Compassion is a difficult word to define, yet most everyone knows the emotion and will describe it in many different ways. The great thing about a word like compassion is that everyone perceives it differently. My definition and view of compassion, to put it simply, is love in action. Love is a light that glows and grows from within, and this light and radiance is shared with others. Everyone has this light, yet some have let it merely flicker and some have let it go out. However, it is possible to reignite the flame of love within a person. Through giving and radiating loving light, you can reignite the flame in someone else. Living as an expression of love brings compassion into the world.
